Hyderabad Property News & Guides

Hyderabad's property market is split between established neighbourhoods and new schemes on the edge of the city. Latifabad, divided into numbered units near the Indus, and Qasimabad, home to older and newer localities close to Mehran University, are where most families look for a ready house. Most new plots, though, are in private schemes along the Hyderabad Bypass, with smaller clusters on Jamshoro Road and the road towards Hala and Mirpurkhas. Plots here are sold in square yards rather than marla, with 120 and 240 sq yd as common sizes.

Buyers are mostly local families upgrading from older homes, people from nearby districts moving to the city, and overseas Pakistanis buying a plot on instalments to build later. Renters tend to look in the settled areas, where schools, markets and transport are already in place.

Before you buy, check the scheme's approval with the Hyderabad Development Authority, which has suspended NOCs and declared schemes illegal in the past. Confirm that your plot is on the approved layout plan, check the land title in the Sindh land record, and pay only into the scheme's official bank account.
